Everyone can feel anxious at times, it is a very normal emotion to feel. Sometimes you can feel anxious if you have a test at school. In this case maybe your brain is telling you, you need to study more and you are feeling anxious because you know you have not done enough!!!!
You can feel anxious too about the way people look at you and see you. You may feel anxious about being away from your mother or father. You may feel anxious starting a new school. This is very normal.
Taking a few deep breaths the very moment you start to feel anxious can really help you feel a little better. Looking at what is making you feel anxious is helpful and seeing if there is anything you can do yourself to take away some of the anxious feeling.
For example if you are anxious in the schoolyard because you feel like no one is playing with you and you don’t know what to do about this, maybe you could invent a really cool game. Then when others see your really cool game they may want to come and play with you.
Sometimes you might be tempted to change yourself in order to fit in with whom you think are the cool people. Remember though it is always better to be yourself than to try and change to fit in with others.
Worrying about what other people think about you can make you anxious so try and remember you are wonderful the way you are! There is only one of you, you don’t have to change to fit in, just be yourself.
Getting out into nature for a walk, or climbing a mountain or going cycling can make you feel really good. Even if the park you go to is small, that does not matter. Everything in nature has a natural rhythm and it will make you feel like you have a natural rhythm too. You can collect some daisies and make a daisy chain, count how many different types of trees you can find, make up a treasure hunt before you go and see how many things you get. If it is Spring see how much new growth you can find; if it is winter can you see any animal footprints on the snow, collect some holly leaves for the holiday season the list is endless if you use your imagination.

I allow this anxious feeling to leave my body and I allow myself to be the best kid I can be.
